Launching only five minutes from the lovely historic Gloucester Courthouse village, these wetlands are as convenient as they are beautiful. Ware House Landing gives access to some stunning meandering tidal tributaries to the Ware River, one of four rivers feeding the Chesapeake’s Mobjack Bay.
Even during low tides, the river allows access to marshes and swamps that support otter, muskrat, crabs, deer, and various bird species.
This tour is excellent for beginners as it is does not leave us in large exposed bodies of water and is very sheltered from any coastal winds. At only $50 for adults and $30 for children, it is also our most economic tour.
